Do you like stories? Below, there are a few paragraphs about how we got to Nová Lesná

Hi, I’m Zuzana, I’ve been traveling a lot since I was 20, so tourism and travelling is very close to my heart for ages. I travelled for work, Erasmus studies, as a volunteer or just for fun. Once you take that big step out of your comfort zone, you cannot stop. I’ve traveled alone, low cost, slept in local homestays or communities, hitchhiked…. Iran, Uganda, Ghana, South Sudan, India, etc. I believe that what you put out comes back to you. Good or bad. Just before covid, I was achieving and living another dream and working as a tour guide in Asia. There, I met Jan in Singapore.

Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone.

During covid I gave birth to our two children and I sadly accepted the fact, that I have to live a “normal and boring life” without traveling. Fortunately, I met someone fearless and together we started to live another dream life…
We originally wanted to buy a house in the Czech Republic, but we were not lucky and couldn’t find anything. This house under the High Tatras was still waiting for new owners. Based on all circumstances, we have believed in fate and bought this house in Nová Lesná.

In July 2022, our second child was born, at the same time Jan was taking over the house. It was our naive though that we would stay in the Czech Republic and supervise the reconstruction remotely. Edík was 1,5 years old and Alžbetka had 3 weeks old when we packed up our things and left for Slovakia. Within a few days I found an apartment to rent and lived there with kids, while Jan spent days and nights at the reconstructed house. We knew that the reconstruction would be difficult. But none of us imagined it to be so difficult! Cooperation with local craftsmen and companies was a bit complicated, help from grandparents was rare. For this reason, we rather paid a nanny and do the reconstruction and last touches by ourselves.
It cost us a lot of time, nerves, and money. But the worst period is behind us and we are currently enjoying our first guests and looking forward to everything what lies ahead.

We are an ideal vacation spot for families with children.
Don’t hesitate to come, we look forward to seeing you soon!

And why INLE Homestay? Well, because a homestay is living with locals, which I did and loved in Asia. And Inle is a lake in Myanmar where we spent our first holiday together. On this lake, local people and even tourists live in simple huts built on wooden wheels. Beautiful and peaceful destination, go there if you have a chance!

What else is planned?

The potential of the house and the place is great. The house has a floor area of 721 m², land has area of 2062 m². I'm not writing this to brag. Just please keep it in mind and turn a blind eye to unfinished stuff... There's still plenty of work and stuff to do. So many ideas, but so little time...

DON'T DREAM YOUR LIFE - LIVE YOUR DREAM

OTHER ROOMS FOR RENT AND COMMON AREA

Soon, we are going to complete two more rooms for rent and renovate the basement of the building. There will be a shared area with kitchen and sitting room for guests.

GLAMPING, TINY HOUSE, TREE HOUSE, YURT

I prefer minimalism more than consumerism and I always preferred to invest into experiences. I love the concept of glamping, tiny houses, tree houses. A few square meters with a cozy interior and beatiful view of the nature. My dream is to build a Mongolian yurt in the middle of the garden, which will be used for meditation and yoga practice. Are you looking forward to it? Me too! Hopefully, I can finish everything during this current live:)

WELLNESS

Believe it or not, even the original owners in 70s-80s planned a wellness area to be part of the house. There is a sauna and a cooling pool in the basement, but none of it has ever been used. We will have a sauna in the future. If not in the basement, then outside under the trees with a view of the Tatras, I promise!
